The music school, which has been operating now for seven years, has often used the open house format at the beginning of the term as a marketing tool for prospective students and customers to get a taste of the Avant Academy of Music music education for themselves. In the days before the pandemic, this would involve physically meeting the music mentors and getting a tour of the facilities. This personal approach has always been a hallmark of the Avant Academy of Music.

In light of the need to limit numbers because of the community spread of COVID 19, the team at Avant Academy of Music was inspired to embrace an online conference format for the open house, allowing persons to meet the music mentors of the school and to raise their questions and concerns about the program and be safe at the same time.
